I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed this film. I thought the first was good, nothing special and certainly not worth the incredible amount of hype it created, so I looked forward to this as something I knew would keep me entertained for 90 minutes.
But it did so much more.
The emotional crux of this movie is absolutely breathtaking, and the search for identity in a changing world is so sensitively and emotionally portrayed. The animation is gorgeous, the themes are heavy and dark, but the film is also genuinely laugh-out-loud funny and full to the brim with hope. The mythology is intriguing and beautifully crafted. The voice acting is completely on point with impeccable vocals, especially from Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and AURORA.
Which leads to the soundtrack, which is simply stunning. Particular highlights being the musical motif of the North Wind's call, the ironic humour in When I Am Older, the whole of Show Yourself, and the heartbreaking and deeply honest portrayal of grief in The Next Right Thing. It is clear that the songwriters care deeply for these songs, and Disney did the right thing in allowing them creative freedom to experiment, with harmonies, motifs and melodies you wouldn't find in your standard Disney fare.
Highlights:

• The whole Show Yourself sequence, particularly the All is Found section in the bridge
• Olaf - particularly "Cause when you're older, absolutely everything makes sense. li>
• The rich mythology and the visuals which brought it to life
• Kristoff's blink-and-you'll-miss-it displays of genuine unconditional love. My love isn't fragile. li>

I look forward to watching this regularly.
